Your impact

‍

As a Power Market Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering profound insights into the short and long-term European market development. Your expertise will support client projects, model runs and model development. The role also involves developing our way of working and extending our analytical capabilities across markets, commodities and industry sectors. You will be working across various ongoing and future projects, alongside industry leaders at QC, internal and external stakeholders and clients. Your key responsibilities would include:

• Form our view on the development of European power markets, both short- and long-term.
• Monitor and analyse current phenomena and trends and make a significant impact for understanding the future power market.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of power markets to inform our models and offer data driven advice to clients.
• Perform market simulations using advanced power system modelling tools.
• Improve our analytical tools, methodologies, and processes for more accurate insights.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Share insights with clients, stakeholders and the public through reports, presentations and consultations.

We are looking for you
‍

We are currently seeking motivated and talented individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess a deep knowledge of power markets and carry a burning interest in understanding fundamental aspects of current and future market behaviors and trends.

‍

We are looking for an insightful colleague who enjoys discussions and working as a part of a team. You are reliable and coordinate well with internal and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions.

‍

• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience, combining qualitative and quantitative analysis.
• Deep understanding of power markets and the underlying fundamental factors having impact on demand, supply and price.
• Experience from working with, and developing, analytical tools, including data visualization and presentation.
• Knowledge of power system modelling tools (e.g. PLEXOS, BID3, GenX, PyPSA) is meritorious.
• Experience with data analysis and data management and programming will be considered major benefits.
• Strong communication skills to present complex content simply and effectively to different audiences.
• Fluent in spoken and written English. Fluency in other European languages is meritorious.
• Master's or PhD degree in Economics, Science and Engineering or related field.

The location can either be remote or at the main office in Stockholm. Quantified Carbon will provide required hardware to perform your role alongside allowance for setting up a home office or joining a coworking space for locations outside of Stockholm.
